MANSFIELD -- The 20th anniversary of the filming of "The Shawshank Redemption" is coming up and the Mansfield & Richland County Convention and Visitors Bureau is inviting movie lovers to tour the area filming sites from the film.
Portions of "The Shawshank Redemption" were filmed at the former Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield. Other scenes were filmed around the Mansfield area.
The 20th reunion of the filming will be Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1 with events and tours happening in Mansfield, Ashland and Upper Sandusky.
A drive-it-yourself tour of the 14 sites is available to see where the classic movie was filmed.
