WASHINGTON D.C. -- First it was Congress, now it's the Supreme Court. Public approval ratings are at an all-time low for the Supreme Court, even after several high-profile decisions last week.
A new poll from Rasmussen shows that 30% of people think the Supreme Court is doing a poor job. That's the highest "poor" rating the Supreme Court has ever received from Rasmussen research. A mere 28% think the High Court is doing a good or excellent job.
Which begs the question: what's the problem?
As our national correspondent Kristine Frazao found, the answer may be politics.
Over the last two decades, we've seen the Supreme Court rule on a presidential election, President Obama's health care law and most recently, the rights of married same-sex couples to be recognized by the federal government.
The approval rating of Congress was mentioned earlier. Gallup polls have pointed to the worst ratings ever for Congress over the last two years.
In the most recent poll, only 17% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing.
