KETTERING--Becca's Hair Salon in Kettering held a Cut-a-Thon to raise money for kids losing their hair.
The owner started the organization, "Hair for Kids, "which helps children who have lost their hair because of illnesses like alopecia, lupus, and cancer.
Becca has been a hair dresser for more than 40 years and says she was inspired to start the fund when she was watching the Children's Medical Network.
"I thought, why are these kids not wearing any hair? So I called Children's Medical Center and asked them if there was a need in our area to help provide children who are going through chemotherapy and other hair loss, and they said yes ," said owner Becca Sanford.
Becca makes and fits the wigs for every child. Proceeds from today's event benefit the Hair for Kids fund.
There will be another Cut-a-Thon at the salon July 21st.
