"Flop House" Discoved on Linden Avenue

DAYTON---A house in the 12 hundred block of Linden Avenue was condemned on Friday, after police found squatters living in the vacant home.
                  
Dayton  police said the homeowners live out of state,  and  squatters have been using the  house for drugs and  prostitution.
 Police called the home a "flophouse."

The squatters were kicked out of the house on Friday. 

"We've had reports of drugs  being sold out of here and prostitution.  We found a bunch of stolen property in there."  Dayton Police Sgt. Mo Perez said.
               
"I'm glad police did what they had to do." Sara Gunther said. She and her kids live close by.     
 
"I have  5 kids they don't need to be around this. It's scary." She said.        

Dayton  Police said  3 homes  have been condemned  in the past 3 months, because of squatters.
Police have visited homes on Linden Avenue, Glencoe Avenue, and Fillmore Street all in the past 3 months.
  
Sgt. Perez said  these vacant homes are breeding grounds for illegal activity. 
"These are not law abiding,  tax paying citizens.  They are not paying the bills."
