JOHANNESBURG, Africa (AP) -- This is the third day Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa, has been in critical condition in the hospital.
In lieu of his condition, Mandela's family and tribal elders have gathered at his home in eastern South Africa.
Family members have also been visiting the hospital in Pretoria where Mandela is being treated.
Well-wishers are gathering outside the hospital, offering messages of support. One man even released dozens of doves, saying they symbolized how Mandela set South Africans free.
