VANDALIA -- While the weather is looking like it's going to be on the hot side for the Air Show this weekend, plenty of medical volunteers will be there to help keep everyone safe.
The air temperature will be close to 90 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday, add that to the heat index, which will be higher and the fact that there is little shade at the airport expo center and that means people have to be careful.
If you're planning on attending, you will be outside and in the sun for hours, so be sure to wear sunscreen, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. You can bring in an umbrella but it has to be a smaller one. You can bring in food and bottled water - but there are some restrictions.
"It can't go in a hard sided cooler, that's a security risk. Your bags will be subject to search. It's just basically common sense, be smart stay hydrated, basically have a great weekend here at the Air Show.", Brenda Kerfoot, the GM of the airshow tells us.
There will be a medical tent set up in case anyone is overcome with the heat and dozens of volunteers, including ER doctors and nurses, will be on hand to help if anyone needs it.
