DAYTON -- RTA held its annual "Dump the Pump: Live Green, Save Green" event today at Courthouse Square with the RTA Savings Challenge. To encourage riding RTA, commuters will have a chance to see how much they will save by giving up their car for a year.
Colleagues, family and friends competed for prizes, including a year's worth of RTA passes and a Trek Verve Bicycle by taking the RTA Savings Challenge. Event-goers plugged in their numbers at laptop stations on the Square and once the numbers are recorded, they were automatically entered to win.
RTA, Ohio's greenest fleet, serves 3,300 stops on 29 routes throughout Montgomery and parts of Greene County. The agency operates diesel, hybrid diesel, and electric trolley buses to take people to work, school and shopping. Customers ride RTA on more than 9 million passenger trips each year. RTA is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service as the region's first choice for alternative transportation.
