OAKWOOD -- Acting on information from the public, police executed a search warrant Monday at 2004 Shroyer Road over concerns about the welfare of animals.
Police say they removed two dogs from the residence and turned them over to the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center for care.
While executing that warrant, police say they found evidence of a marijuana growing operation in the residence. A second search warrant was obtained and a number of marijuana plants and cultivation equipment was removed from the house.
No charges have been filed and the evidence has been submitted to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab. The investigation is ongoing.
