COLUMBUS (AP) -- An Ohio legislative panel is scheduled to begin negotiating differences between the House and Senate versions of the state budget.
The six-member, bipartisan conference committee will meet for the first time Tuesday afternoon.
The group will also hear updated state revenue and Medicaid caseload projections.
Lawmakers face a June 30 deadline to pass the $62 billion, two-year spending plan with the new fiscal year beginning July 1.
The two chambers have separate tax plans and school funding formulas that must be reconciled.
Lawmakers are considering a separate, bipartisan bill to make changes to Medicaid after dropping the governor's proposal to expand the health care program from the budget.
The federal-state Medicaid program for poor and disabled people provides coverage for one of every five residents in Ohio.
