DAYTON -- A Dayton man has died after receiving life-threatening injuries from an early morning fire.
The fire happened after 3:30am on 2819 Preston Street.
Neighbors tell us the man was still inside the home by the time firefighters arrived.
They say before the fire crews arrived, neighbors used sticks and other items to try and break out the windows after flames filled the front porch.
"The house was full of smoke," neighbor Eric James said. "We were trying to get in, but there was no way that we could have gotten in there."
Investigators say the fire's suspicious.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
