VANDALIA -- There's a new place to get fresh produce and much more in one local community.
Today marked the opening of the Vandalia Community Farmers Market at Seger Park. It's the first year the city has held a Farmers Market and organizers say it's a much needed addition to the city.
"We have people here in Vandalia that are not mobile and can't go to the local grocery stores easily and we feel this really fills a niche in the market.", Brenda Rex, one of the market organizers says.
The market features vendors, food trucks and live entertainment. It will be open every Friday from 3 to 7pm through August.
