KETTERING -- The legacy of a well known local golfer and former Kettering-Fairmont teacher lives on. Diana Schwab, started the ''Get a Girl Golfing'' program 15 years ago, but she was killed in a car accident last month in Columbus.
Schwab's friends are continuing the program in her honor. They say girls of all ages ought to learn the basics of golfing.
One of Diane's former students came back to help with the program this year.
"She said that she felt such a need to come back and give back because Diana had given her so much.'', Kathy Ingersol, of the Women's Golf Association told us, ''So I'm pretty thrilled and she's going to be a recipient of one of our scholarships this year."
Anyone who wants to keep the program going can make a donation to the Miami Valley Golf Foundation for the Diane Schwab Scholarship fund.
