DAYTON -- A community picnic featuring free food and entertainment will also include hosted tours of two energy-efficient homes now available for purchase.
The picnic will offer free hot dogs and snow cones, as well as entertainment by Team Zoom and WROU 92.1. A shuttle will take guests to the two homes, both on Brooklyn Avenue.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 23, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 1718 W. Third St.
The two houses (one is new construction; the other is a complete renovation) offer energy-efficient appliances and heating/air conditioning, as well as other money-saving features. Both are part of the City of Daytonâs federally funded Neighborhood Stabilization Programs, which have completed dozens of home renovations in addition to new construction and demolition in targeted areas.
The event is presented by the City of Dayton, LiveInDayton.org and Kamela & Company Realty.
