AUGLAIZE COUNTY -- A lot of folks are working to restore their yards Thursday morning after thunderstorms went through many parts of the Miami Valley.
Jerry & Janet Wellman were cleaning up downed trees, broken windows, and even pieces of their roof missing after storms went through their home in Wapakoneta.
"I was upstairs on the couch and all of a sudden I heard a big noise and then I heard something falling on the house and ran down and Jerry was down in the basement, then we heard more trees falling on the house and the heavy winds," said Janet.
In Greene County, there wasn't much damage, but the power outages got up to more than 1,000. The people we spoke with say they didn't mind the power outages since they didn't see much damage.
"It wasn't near as bad as I thought it was going to be, in fact if the power hadn't gone out, I probably wouldn't have woken up. I didn't hear the wind or anything, the power went off about 2:00 before the storm even started."
DP&L restored most of the power to most of the homes by 7:00 a.m.
