UPDATE: Police Chase Ends in Crash

UPDATE --  A police chase ends in a nasty crash near Grandview Hospital with three people under arrest.       

"I saw 5 Sheriff's cars just, like, speeding down the road," Laura Edgar of Dayton tells us.

Witnesses at the intersection of Grand and Forrest were in awe when they witnessed the dramatic finale of a police chase.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies say the chase started on Merrimac Avenue in Harrison Township.

The buzz from witnesses was that the three men inside a maroon Pontiac were involved in an armed robbery before being pursued by police..

Laura Edgar was inside the Grandview Hospital and tells us she was afraid to go outside..

 "There were people inside the emergency room and waiting room saying this guy has a gun and this that and the other and it was just really crazy."

Authorities on the scene tell us two of the three men were arrested directly after the crash  And the third suspect - who initially got away from police - was captured with the help of a police dog a short time later.

Sheriff's Deputies were searching the intersection for nearly an hour before they  found the suspect's gun in the wrecked car

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department has taken over the case and tell us the chase is still under investigation.




DAYTON -- According to dispatchers, police were responding to a possible robbery at 3814 Merrimac Ave. in Dayton when an officer  spotted a vehicle with three black males inside behind the Northtown Shopping Center.

Police chased the vehicle down Main St. to Grandview where the suspects hit a pole and bailed on foot.

According to scanners, all three suspects are in custody.  Two were caught early in the chase, the third was caught by a wooded area near a church.  A taser was used on one of the suspects.
