PREBLE COUNTY -- An autopsy will be performed today on the woman who was struck and killed Tuesday evening by a Bush Hog lawn mower.
Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson says Mary Thomas, 74, suffered from dementia and likely had fallen in an area of high weeds. While her husband approached with the tractor and Bush Hog he was unable to see her and she was struck, Simpson said.
The case is under investigation by the Preble County Sheriff's Office and the Preble County Coroner's Office.

PREBLE COUNTY -- A fatal accident occurred on Swishers Mill Road Tuesday evening.
According to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson, a 74-year-old woman, who suffers from dementia, had left her house for a walk when she fell in a field of tall grass.
The woman's husband was using a Bush Hog mower at the time and didn't realize his wife was no longer inside the home.
A short time later, the woman was run over by the mower.
The two identities have not yet been released and it is unclear if the man will face charges.
