MIAMI COUNTY -- It was a false alarm as tornado sirens went off last night in southern Miami County.
A volunteer firefighter who said he saw a funnel cloud called 911. It prompted a dispatcher to activate the sirens in Troy, West Milton, Pleasant Hill and Tipp City.
The firefighter than called back a second time and said he had made a mistake.
No funnel clouds were ever confirmed.

Deputies dispatched to the area found nothing, and the National Weather Service in Wilmington says their data did not show conditions for any kind of tornado. No damage was found.
