CEDARVILLE -- Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a dumped body found early Friday evening.
An empty Cedarville cornfield on Rakestraw Road became a crime-scene when Deputies tell us a local resident noticed something unusual out of their car window.
"Resident noticed a tarp wrapped up on the side of the road and thought it was suspicious and called it in,"Sgt Shawn Prall, Greene County Sheriffs Department told us.
"Deputies responded and were able to identify human remains."
The Greene County Sheriff's Department is not releasing the identity or even the gender of the body.
Sheriffs Deputies tell us they did collect evidence that will be processed over the weekend.
The Sherrif's Department is awaiting an autopsy from the Miami Valley Crime Lab.

A body was found early this evening in a rural area just outside of Cedarville. The body was dumped off the side of the road in a field. It was spotted by a driver.
Right now, authorities aren't releasing much information about the victim.
