Have Fun Fundraising for a Good Cause at Kings Island

MASON -- The thrill of a roller coaster ride at Kings Island will have a whole new meaning Sunday, June 9, when Kings Island hosts “Coasting for Kids 2013” to raise money for Give Kids the World (GKTW), a Central Florida non-profit resort that provides cost-free, weeklong vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

The event is in its fourth year at Kings Island and a company-wide effort at all 11 Cedar Fair Entertainment Company amusement parks, raising a combined total of more than $200,000 since its inception.

Participants will ride Diamondback and the Racer from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. All participants raise a minimum of $75 for Give Kids the World to take part and will receive complimentary admission to Kings Island, a certificate of participation, a Coasting for Kids event T-shirt, lunch, a behind the scenes tour of the Beast and unlimited rides on Diamondback (8 a.m.–9:15 a.m.) and Racer (10 a.m.–5 p.m.).

Participants raising at least $500 will receive a Coasting for Kids awareness bracelet.  Participants who raised $1,000 or more will receive a special edition “Top Fundraiser” T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the top three fundraisers at a 6:30 p.m. ceremony in the PEANUTS Playhouse Theater.

More information about Give Kids the World and Coasting for Kids is available at www.gktw.org.
