DAYTON -- A semi truck clips a power pole, knocking out power to nearly 300 DP&L customers last night.
The 18-wheeler hit the line on East Stewart and Anderson Streets around 9:30 Wednesday night. Officers found the truck in an alley down the street.
The truck driver told us he didn't even realize he hit the pole.
"It was the back of my trailer and I didn't notice until I came down here to complete my stop, and a little kid comes running up to me, and says that the power is out on his block," he said.
The driver will be cited for the accident. Another man on scene was arrested for disorderly conduct. Police say he was cursing at the driver for knocking out his power.
DP&L crews have replaced the pole and line but power has yet to be restored to area residents.
We'll keep you updated on the latest from the scene.
