BUTLER COUNTY -- A detective with the Butler County Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of two miniature horses.
The horses were discovered on a farm that borders another farm where four sheep were hacked to death and several other animals, including two horses, suffered deep gashes.
The properties are in the area of Grey Road and State Line Road in Reily Township.
There have been no arrests in last month's attacks.
The miniature horses were likely killed over the weekend, but they weren't discovered until Tuesday evening.
In one case, a horse's head was nearly separated from its body.
Right now, investigators are not sure what they have on their hands.
They say there is still a chance the miniature horses fell victim to coyotes.
