DAYTON -- A man in a stolen car leads police on a chase through Fairborn, Kettering, Moraine, and Dayton.
Fairborn Police have identified the suspect as Darius Mitchell, who was wanted by that police department.
The pursuit started in Fairborn just before 4:00 Monday morning. Speeds reached up to 70 miles an hour at one point. The suspect eventually lost a tire on Springboro Pike.
The driver bailed out of the car on Grafton Avenue in Dayton. At first he came out with his hands up, but then decided to run away. He was caught behind a house on Grafton Avenue.
When confronted with our cameras, the suspect said, "I wasn't driving." He's now facing several felony charges.
Mitchell is currently in the Montgomery County Jail and will be transferred to Greene County to answer pending charges.
