UPDATE:Child Struck in Critical Condition

UPDATE--Police says the driver struck the boy in the 600 block of Randolph just before 11 Friday night.

Witnesses say the boy had wandered into the street when they heard a loud boom.

Family members rushed to his side and he was taken to Miami Valley for surgery before he was admitted into Dayton Children's.  Tonight his family is praying for his life.   

"Last night he had a zero to five percent chance of living, now he's at a ten percent and they are going through his cat scan right now he might or might not be paralyzed for the rest of his life," said the child's sister Brooke Rider.

Doctors say the boy is in critical condition.

The driver was not arrested or charged on the scene but police are investigating. They say it appears it was an accident.

DAYTON -- Police are on the scene of a child who was hit by car.  It happened just before 11pm Friday at the intersection of Lakeview and Randolph Street.

Police have the scene roped off while they investigate.

We're waiting for police to release more details on exactly what happened.
