DAYTON -- The Dayton Fire Department promoted two public safety professionals today at the Fire Training Center, 38 Woodman Dr.
Ryan J. McElroy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. McElroy began his career with the Dayton Fire Department as a Firefighter in 2006. He is a certified Paramedic, Firefighter Level II, Fire Inspector and Fire Instructor and has been a member of Ohio Task Force 1 since July 2008 as a Rescue Specialist (in August of 2011, he deployed with Ohio Task Force 1 to Hurricane Irene). In January of 2011, McElroy received the Dayton Fire Department Lifesaver Award.
William D. Jones was promoted to Paramedic. Jones began his career with the Dayton Fire Department as an EMT-Basic in 2010. In addition to being a certified Paramedic, he is also a certified Level II Firefighter.
