BETHEL TWP. -- A New Carlisle man is accused of attempting to assault a grocery store manager in the store and in the parking lot with a car.

Clark County Sheriff's deputies say Anthony Glock, 30, became upset when an IGA employee on Main Street in Bethel Township refused to allow meat to be returned.

The employee, Ron Warren, reportedly told Glock it was store policy that meat could not be returned.

Deputies say Glock became angry, slammed the meat down on the counter, tried to punch Warren and knocked over a rack of cookies.

Warren said he followed Glock out of the store to get his license plate number. At that time, deputies report, Glock tried to hit Warren with the car.

Deputies caught up with Glock at 312 Rawson Road, where he was sitting in a chair in the yard.

"Here we go!" Glock yelled at the deputies.

Glock reportedly denied trying to hit the IGA worker, and then denied even driving the car, saying at first his stepfather was driving, then saying a friend was in the car.

Deputies learned that Glock's driver's license was suspended and arrested him on suspicion of unauthorized use of an auto, criminal damaging, menacing and felonious assault.
