DAYTON -- Vectren Dayton Air Show officials announced Tuesday that the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the 2013 show.
The announcement was made as part of the International Council of Air Showsâ annual convention in Las Vegas. 2013 marks the 39th anniversary of the event held annually at the Dayton International Airport.
The Thunderbirds will appear June 22 and June 23.
Also named in the preliminary line-up are the AeroShell Aerobatic Team, aerobatic pilots Skip Stewart and Melissa Pemberton, the jet-powered school bus âSchool Timeâ, along with the worldâs only flying B-29 Superfortress, âFIFIâ.
Flying the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a premier multi-role fighter jet, the Thunderbirds will be celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2013.
âThis is an awesome start of a sensational lineup,â stated Michael Emoff, Chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees, the governing organization of the show. âWeâre out of the gate with an incredible variety of talented performers ... and weâll have more to announce in coming months.â
Tickets for the Dayton Air Show went on sale Tuesday. Tickets can be purchased at the Dayton Air Show website.
