PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The abortion doctor from Philadephia,
Dr. Kermit Gosnell, has decided not to appeal the first-degree murder conviction for killing three babies.

These babies were born alive in his clinic and he used scissors to kill them.

Gosnell will accept several life terms to avoid facing the death penalty hearing.

Gosnell was sentenced Tuesday in the first two deaths.  He'll be sentenced in the third baby's death today, along with the overdose of a patient among other charges.

Gosnell's case has become major news in the nation's enduring abortion debate.
