DAYTON -- The Ohio Department of Transportation today will be closing ramps and shifting lanes on I-75 and US 35.
Lane closures will be in effect on I-75 southbound between US 35 and Main Street beginning Tuesday at 7 pm. One lane will be closed from 7 pm and 6 am. Two lanes will be closed from 10 pm and 5 am. The affected lanes are scheduled to reopen Wednesday at 6 am. One lane of traffic will remain open to southbound motorists at all times.
Also, the ramp from I-75 southbound to Webster Street will be closed nightly beginning Wednesday at 8 pm. These closures will take place nightly between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am. The affected ramp is scheduled to reopen to motorists Friday, December 14, at 6 am.
This ramp closure is due to a contractor removing the existing bridge over the ramp.
The official detour during this ramp closure is: SR 4 to SR 202 to Valley Street to Keowee Street to Monument Street to Webster Street
Also, the following ramps will also close beginning Tuesday at 7 pm:
⢠Ramps from I-75 south to First Street and Third Street
⢠Ramps from Monument Street and Second Street to I-75 south
These ramps will remain closed. A newly constructed ramp is scheduled to reopen in this area in 2016.
The official detours for the ramp closures are:
⢠I-75 South to First St. and Third St.-I-75 south to Main St.
⢠Monument St. and Second St. to I-75 south- Ludlow St. to US 35 west to I-75 south
These lane and ramp closures are due to a contractor shifting traffic in that area as part of the I-75 Modernization Project. All traffic will be shifted to the northbound side of I-75 so crews can work on reconstructing the southbound side. There will be three southbound lanes available and two northbound lanes available.
A single lane closure will be in effect on US 35 eastbound between Woodman Drive and I-675 beginning Tuesday at 8 pm. The affected lane is scheduled to reopen to motorists Wednesday at 6 am. One lane of traffic will remain open to eastbound motorists at all times.
The ramp from Woodman Drive to US 35 east will also be closed during this time.
This lane closure is due to a contractor performing a traffic pattern shift in that area.
This traffic pattern shift will consist of moving the two eastbound lanes of US 35 from Woodman Dr. to I-675 back to their original configuration. This will eliminate the crossover lane and move the left hand eastbound lane back to the correct side of the highway.
