New Housing Complex Coming to Dayton

Dayton -- Plans are underway for a $5 Million Housing project in Downtown Dayton.

Charles Simms Development is spearheading the project which will bring 31 new town homes right across the street from his successful Patterson Square development. The neighborhood will be called Patterson Place, located on the corner of First and Patterson minutes away from the Fifth Third Stadium. The project is slated to break ground in the next couple of months.

The town homes start at $169,900 and there are three different floor plans to choose from ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms. The town homes are also energy efficient which goes along with Dayton's going green initiatives.

The city is behind the development and Assistant City Manager Shelley Dickstein says it should be approved without any obstacles at city commission in six weeks.

"It's a really important characteristic for the future and we think that if we can capitalize on it then we'll be better set to compete for future investments," said Dickstein.

There are currently 9 condominiums options downtown.

Steve Hammaker has been living and working downtown for 6 years and loves it. He encourages others to take a look at the new properties.

"Oh I enjoy living downtown. The parks are here, so you can get out, run the dog in the grass. Dog park, couple of blocks away," Hammaker said. "Two blocks there and I'm at work at the Schuster Center.  There's only a block and a half over to Riverscape. The ball field's right there. Oregon District couple of blocks away. I really enjoy it."

Charlie Sims, President and CEO of Charles Simms Development says his office has already accepted reservations. If you are interested you can call 937-434-9009 or go to their website by clicking here.
