Miracle Babies Reunite with Hospital Staff Years Later

DAYTON--Miracle children reunited with the people who helped give them their start in life.

There were lots of hugs and smiles today at Miami Valley Hospital.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Baby Reunion reunites former NICU babies and their families with the nurses, doctors and other caregivers who helped them when they were born.

These kids were either born prematurely or with extreme medical condition.  Staff members say the reunion means a lot to them.

"See little miracles that have been here and struggled, and are now walking in here giving us hugs and smiling and enjoying life. So it's a very big blessing and an exciting time for us," said nurse Tina Arstingstall.

The NICU first opened in 1975 and since then, they've helped thousands of babies.

The reunion happens every two years.
