VANDALIA -- Science students in Vandalia are bringing outer space down to Earth.
With the help of a grant and some donations, the "Planet Walk" has been installed at Smith Middle School.
It's an outdoor astronomy display that covers the length of the school's campus.
As kids walk the course, they learn all kinds of fun facts about our solar system.
"All the students know the planets, but to get an idea of just how far it is out to the outer planets," said Scott Oldfield, astronomy teacher.
The granite markers were donated by Dodd's Monuments.
