DAYTON -- Some local middle schoolers get a lesson from the pros when it comes to crafting today.
Boys and girls at the Richard Allen Academy took part in a master craft program toady. Students attended several workshops taught by parents, teachers, and sports professionals. The topics discussed in the workshops included entrepreneurship, time management, money management, and sports careers. Former Harlem Globetrotter Lionel Garrett was one of the celebrity speakers.
"The kids always need somebody to reiterate and reflect off of their thoughts, someone who's been there, done that,'' Garrett told us, ''so I'm more than happy to help them see where they're going based on where I've been."
School officials say the workshop not only helps the students, but honors parents and the community for their continued support.
