FAIRBORN -- Fairborn citizens soundly defeated a 11.7 mills emergency levy for the school district, by a margin of 66% to 34%.
The district is now looking at a multi-million dollar deficit for the 2013-14 school year and will likely have to resort to borrowing money from the state.
School officials say they will now have to raise fees for kids to play sports or participate in extracurricular activities and some costs could more than triple.
