CLEVELAND -- Charles Ramsey says he helped Amanda Berry and a child escape from the home where they were held against their will for nearly 10 years.

While talking to a reporter today, Ramsey said he heard a woman pounding on a neighbor's door. He thought it was a domestic violence matter.

"She said, "call 911, I'm Amanda Berry," Ramsey said. "Amanda told police "I ain't the only one. there some more girls in that house."

Ramsey said police went in the house "30-40 deep" and when they came out he was astonished to see two other women emerge from the house.

Police say Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were held inside the house since they were in their teens or early 20s.

She said he saw Ariel Castro, one of the three suspects, every day, playing with the dogs, doing normal activities. Ramsey said he even ate ribs and listened to salsa music with him.

Ramsey said there was absolutely no indication that the women were being held in Castro's house.
