CENTERVILLE -- Centerville Police arrested a man they say groped a woman and a teenaged girl inside the Kroger on Main Street in Centerville.
They arrested 25-year-old Kyle Jeckering Saturday afternoon.
Investigators say he went into the Kroger, walked up to a 60-year-old woman, grabbed her around the waist and then grabbed her rear end.
"I've grown up here I have shopped at this Kroger my entire adult life and I have just not heard of anything like that happening," said Judy Scholle.
But it gets worse.
Investigators say after the woman screamed, he walked to the other side of the store, and did the same thing to a 16-year-old girl, shopping with her mother.
"I would be mortified and I would want to protect them every way that I could," said Scholle.
Police say the teen's mother used the cart to fight off Jeckering, which he eventually walked away.
"I don't know if she learned that in a class or if that was just an instinct," Officer John Davis, Centerville Police Department.
Instinct or not, Officer Davis says that was the best thing she could have done, and as far as witnesses inside the store, police say they did everything they should have done.
"They kept him in sight they didn't try to intervene, because obviously in this situation he was armed with a knife," said Officer Davis.
A knife that could have been used to hurt someone, but because they let police handle the situation no one got hurt.
But the incident is keeping customers on their toes.
"If you're suspicious tell someone it's worth it, it s worth it," said Scholle.
Officers took Jeckering to the hospital for evaluation because he was acting erratically.
He faces two counts of gross sexual imposition and a possible charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
