Tips to Avoid Being Scammed on Cyber Monday

DAYTON -- If you didn't catch any deals over the Thanksgiving holiday on Black Friday or Small Business Saturday, there is still Cyber Monday, a day to shop online.

More than 129 million Americans plan to shop online beginning at midnight. All of them at risk for hackers.

The Dayton Better Business Bureau says here's what you need to know.

First, protect your computer by having a secure firewall and make sure your anti virus soft-wares are up to date. Second, pay using a credit card just in case there are unauthorized charges, you can dispute them.
   
And, third, on any site make sure there's a "s" in the address box. It should look like this https://

More people are expected to shop on smart phones than in the past. Experts say make sure you aren't using a WiFi connection, but find a secure network.
   
The BBB also wants to remind you that if a deal sounds too good to be true, than it probably is.
