COLUMBUS -- An Ohio couple has been accused of shoplifting merchandise in order to obtain guns.
Officers say the two were part of a shoplifting ring that was targeting Cabela's and Dick's Sporting Goods. After stealing merchandise, the suspects would return the items and use the store credit to buy firearms.
Police searched the couple's home and found three ill-gotten guns.
We're told the pair was able to buy firearms because neither had ever been charged with a felony.
