Dayton -- Police are cracking down on drunk drivers tonight. Right now, officers are stopping cars at the intersection of North Gettysburg and Kings Highway in Dayton.
The Montgomery County combined OVI task force holds sobriety checkpoints periodically. They're looking for any signs of impairment. In 2011, there were 548 alcohol related crashes in Montgomery County alone. Those crashes claimed the lives of 22 people and injured another 330.
The checkpoint started around 4:00 and it will wrap up at 8:00pm tonight. Remember, if you're going to drink, get a designated driver.
