SPRINGFIELD -- A suspected robber didn't get very far when an off-duty sheriff's deputy, who was out to dinner with his family, pulled his gun and ordered the man to the ground.

The Clark County Sheriff's deputy Todd Leisure said a man was acting suspiciously outside the restaurant. Moments later, the man -- identified later as 20-year-old Keida Johnson of Yellow Springs -- entered the restaurant wearing a hooded jacket, yelling at the clerk, demanding money.

That's when the deputy took action. He held Johnson on the ground until Springfield police officers arrived.

"It's been nonstop as far as congratulations but I don't look at it like that," said Leisure. "I was Just at the right place at the right time and I know anyone else in this line of work would've done the same thing."

Johnson was taken to jail and faces attempted robbery charges.

Coming up tonight find out how this is not the only time Leisure made an off-duty arrest.
