MONTGOMERY COUNTY -- Every second counts when you call 911.
Dispatchers for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department can now help those in an emergency faster than ever.
Up until now, the county would use flip charts with instructions that relates to each emergency being called in.
Those instructions will walk a caller step by step through the emergency.
Now, the dispatchers will be able to use their computer with a new software that is all by the click of a mouse.
"Even if it just saves a few seconds, that's very vital when an emergency happens," said Captain Matt Haines with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
The new equipment costs $160,000. It was paid for through a grant from Ohio Homeland Security.
