MIAMISBURG-- Almost a decade later and people who live near the Isotec Plant in Miamisburg are still trying to recover from that explosion back in 2003, the deadly explosion in Texas brought back horrifying memories for some.
"The biggest thing for me was the loud explosion and the shaking of the house," said one resident.
Our cameras were there capturing the aftermath of the blast.
"When it happened because you could feel it, the house shaking and everything, I didn't know what it was," she said.
While many of her neighbors have sinced moved, some have stayed.
"I come running outside because my husband was outside and he had picked this up, it had landed, he was actually standing here in our yard when this piece of trapnal landed in our yard."
A scary situation to experience, Yvonne knows first hand what those families in Texas are going through. Her family was evacuated twice.
Other people in this Miamisburg neighborhood says that deadly explosion brought back many memories.
"All this orange stuff was all over the grass, all over everything," a resident said. "It was stuff like things like nails coming through the ceiling and all the ceiling from the garage fell down"
Some valuable advice for those families now picking up the pieces of their lives: take lots of pictures of any damage to your property and document everything.
"My thoughts and prayers are with them and I hope that they can get the help that they need," one resident said.
Some of these Miamisburg resident did file a class action lawsuit for damages. The suit has since been settled. Some families were given $600 for damages and personal stress.
