WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A field hearing is planned Tuesday to address roles of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), as well as the UAS budget requests for fiscal year 2014.
Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), Chairman of the House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, said his subcommittee will hold this field hearing in Dayton.
âUnmanned Aerial Systems have proven to be a significant asset to our men and women in uniform. In the coming years this technology will play expanded role in both military and civilian applications. This hearing will take a look at that future and what we must do to prepare for it,â said Turner.
Several Congressmen, including Turner and Second District Congressman Brad Wenstrup, are expected to attend.
Defense experts also are expected to speak at the hearing, which is planned for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sinclair Community College, Building 12 Auditorium.
Turner said to look for signs for directions on entering the facility. Parking will not be available under Building 12.
