DAYTON -- The Dayton Police Department responded to an assault complaint at Children's Hospital around 4 p.m. on Monday.
According to police, Stephanie Arnold, 27, a hospital nurse, was assaulted by Davis Long, 26, the father of a child receiving treatment.
Arnold recalls entering the patient's room and noting how agitated Long appeared. The victim reports Long initially kicked at a glass door and shattered a clipboard. When Arnold asked Long to settle down, he grabbed at a stethoscope she was wearing.
Long then attempted to punch Arnold. She averted his punch and ended up with visible scratches on her neck.
Officers on the scene took Long into custody and transported him to jail.
