DAYTON -- Rapper MC Lyte takes the stage at Thurgood Marshal High School in Dayton Friday night to put an end to gun violence.
A couple hundred parents and kids packed into the gym for the concert. Several DJ's, dancers, rappers and other music artists were bumping beats leading up to the main event, headliner, MC Lyte. The Dayton Human Relations Council put on the event in an effort to reduce gun violence, especially among youth. The message was "Speak, Be Heard, Be Consider." The idea is for youth to resolve their differences with words, instead of violence and guns.
MC Lyte will be back at the high school at 10 am Saturday for hip hop forum on non-violence.
