DAYTON -- A Dayton man, once accused of dog fighting and animal cruelty, gets his animals returned to him.
Monday, Eric Wiggins was reunited with some of his best friends.
Last November, Wiggins was accused of dog fighting and animal cruelty, after a neighbor saw a dead dog, hanging from a window and called authorities.
Wiggins said his pet accidentally hanged himself on a chain when he was out of town.
When Wiggins returned, he said all 9 of his dogs were taken by animal control officers.
The Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office said all the charges were dropped after the grand jury reviewed the evidence and chose not to indict him.
Today, his dogs were given back to him at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center.
"It feels good. I'm getting my family members back," Wiggins said.
Wiggins said he's never been involved in dog fighting, and just wants to clear his name after getting being accused of such a heinous crime.
"I read the blogs and it hurt me. People said 'hang him out the window, like he did that dog,' They said some horrible things."
According to reports, dogs were confined to small enclosures within a barn, and chained up within the barn.
Wiggins claims he's a legitimate dog breeder and that his dogs are well cared for.
"I love my dogs. I just want to get my life back."
