Home School Students Learn at Air Force Museum

DAYTON -- Home school children, ages 3-18, participated in educational activities during Spring Home School Day on April 8 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

Educational programming included:
• Kite Tales: Ages 3-5; free
• Robots Among Us: Ages 5-6; free
• Modular Robotics: Ages 6-8; free (presented by a scientist from the Wright-Patterson AFB "Wizards of Wright" program)
• Into the Air: Ages 7-9; free
• Lasers and Optics: Ages 8-10; free (presented by an engineer from the Wright-Patterson AFB "Wizards of Wright" program)
• Air Drop Rodeo: Ages 9-12; free
• Around the Clock - Around the World: Ages 12 ; free
• The Holocaust: Prejudice and Memory: Ages 12 ; free
• Cryptology: Ages 10-15; free
• Optical Spectra and Color: Ages 12-14; free (presented by a scientist from the Wright-Patterson AFB "Wizards of Wright" program)

Guided tours, scavenger hunts and aerospace demonstration stations also were available for the entire family. Also available was the Presidential Gallery, a movie in the new digital 3D theatre or the interactive simulators.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). Admission and parking are free. For more information, visit www.nationalmuseum.af.mil
