DAYTON -- Monday night, Dayton police tracked down a driver suspected of fleeing, and end up arresting someone else for heroin possession.
Police say it started when they were responding to a call about two cars shooting at each other on North Euclid.
Police spotted a vehicle matching the description of one of the cars, but it sped off. They tracked the car to a home on Ravenwood.
When questioning the driver, a second person came out of the home, started talking to officers, then ran back inside.
Police tell us they went after him and found him trying to flush heroin down a toilet.
"The bottom line is that all of this evolved from an investigation officers were conducting, " said Lt. Wendy Stiver with the Dayton Police, "Had both cooperated with officers instead of running from them this might have had a different ending.''
Police arrested both men. They are still trying to determine if the driver was involved in the shooting.
