Organizers say the run spreads the word about the nation in turmoil.
"A lot of people aren't aware of the war in the Congo is the second deadliest war since World War II, over six million people have died in the Congo. Largely in fights over the mineral resources there,"said Project Congo founder Sylvia Gleason.
