RIVERSIDE -- A family of three are without a home after fire claims most of their possessions early Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out just before 3:00 a.m. in the 600 block of Beatrice Drive. Fire crews from Dayton, Harrison Township, Wright-Patterson, and Huber Heights were called in to assist.
A 91-year-old woman was living in the house with her daughter and granddaughter. All three were able to escape safely. The 91-year-old woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The 23-year-old granddaughter, Brittany Miller, says she was only able to salvage a few pictures that were important to her grandmother.
"I've never myself been through a house fire, so I don't really know the protocol, what do to. Just get my family out of the house and that's what I did," Brittany Miller said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Brittany Miller says she thinks it might have something to do with her cell phone charger.
