Police: Man Using Screwdriver to Threaten Homeowners

MIAMI TOWNSHIP -- Miami Township Police are warning homeowners about a series of home burglaries.

Detective Kevin Landis says David Croley, 34, is the suspect in the burglaries.

They say Croley is approaching homes in Miami Township around 10 or 11 in the morning.

"He will knock on the door, if no one answers, he will go around and force entry by a window or a door," he said.

On Monday, detectives say Croley tried to break in to a home while the homeowner was there.

They say Croley threatened the homeowner with a screwdriver, the tool he uses to break-in.

"He is far more aggressive than the average burglar. He has no problem threatening them," said Landis.

Detectives say Croley is driving a stolen 1998 gold Saturn two-door vehicle with plates AUV3826.

Croley is suspected in up to seven home burglaries.
